Pet exercise? What is that?
All pets except maybe fish need exercise. It is obvious that you can walk your dog or even your cat (I guess), but are there any other options for exercise? I am here to tell you that yes there are. You have won the pet exercise lottery so to speak in that I have some great ways to exercise your pet and have some fun doing it.
Balls, balls are a great way to give your dog or cat some exercise. Cats will chase a ball for hours and enjoy it. Dogs seem to live to chase down a ball and wrestle it into submission just to return it to you, albeit slobbery, but to you none the less and begin the process all over again. (Yuck)
Those are the standard suggestions however fear not I have more! The vacuum cleaner is always great fun for a dog to chase and if you can convince your cat that it won’t eat them they will chase it too. Dogs just love to play tug of war with a rag or bath towel ( hopefully not the one you were wearing down the hall) they also love to bark at the mailman this is an endless source of amusement for your dog.
Cats will chase string forever if you let them, actually I just tie one onto my pants and walk around our house my cats think its great, me too except for the tendency to climb your leg all claws bared it is great fun. Actually I tie a string to the end of a long ( you know safe distance and all) stick and drag it in front of them they love it and lets face it, it is very funny to watch.
Ferrets much like cats love to chase things, they will chase your other pets all around the house. Just kidding they do love to chase string, balls and pretty much anything else that catches their eye. Ferrets love to climb on everything and you will find them in the strangest places, I found ours in the fridge one day, don’t worry he is fine but he will avoid the open fridge door like it has the plague.
Be creative use your imagination you know your pet better than any one so experiment and find things to do with them they will love the attention and I promise you will laugh for hours.
